Telangana Police Launches Women-Led Mobility Pilot to Empower Women Drivers in Hyderabad
February 7, 2026
The Women Safety Wing of Telangana Police launched the 'Women-Led Mobility Livelihoods Pilot – Hyderabad' on February 6, 2026. The program aims to empower women economically and make public travel safer by increasing the number of women drivers in the city. It partners with Srinivasa Group of Companies, Bijliride Private Limited, and Zippintella Private Limited through non-financial agreements.
This initiative focuses on training women from vulnerable groups to drive two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers. After training, women will receive help finding jobs or starting their own transport services. The goal is to provide lasting income sources for these women, while also boosting safety for female commuters.
With more women behind the wheel in public and shared transport, the program hopes to build trust and confidence among women traveling around Hyderabad.
