15-Year-Old Charged for Stabbing Teacher at Milford Haven School
February 7, 2026
A 15-year-old pupil at Milford Haven comprehensive school has been charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article on school grounds. The incident happened on Thursday in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales.
The boy has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swansea magistrates court on Saturday.
Dyfed-Powys police confirmed the teacher suffered stab wounds, which were initially thought to be non-stab injuries. The teacher received hospital treatment and was later discharged.
Senior officer DCI Matthew Briggs said, “We are continuing to support the victim whilst they recover from this traumatic event.” He added there will be a “higher than usual police presence” around local schools to offer reassurance.
The school was closed on Friday, but police assured that all other pupils left safely.
Welsh First Minister Eluned Morgan, who had visited the school just last week, expressed concern. She said, “I am deeply concerned by the incident at the school in Milford Haven... violence of any kind has no place in our schools.” Morgan praised emergency and school staff for their swift response and promised continued government support to keep schools safe.
Neil Butler, national official for Wales of the teachers' union NASUWT, called the event frightening and said teachers deserve safety at work. He stated, “We wish the injured teacher a full and swift recovery. But it may not be that simple. As violence in schools increases, teachers will need more than hopes and prayers.”
