Prachi, a 10-year-old zebra, passed away at Mysuru zoo on Saturday. She was brought from Ramat Gan, Israel, in 2018. Prachi had given birth to six foals during her time in Mysuru. Zoo officials said she was pregnant and suffered from intestinal obstruction. She delivered a female foal but died two days later due to complications caused by enteroliths (intestinal stones). Despite ongoing treatment by the zoo veterinarians, Prachi did not recover. She died around 11 a.m. The zoo management expressed sadness over her death. Meanwhile, Prachi’s foal is being hand-reared by the zoo keepers.
