Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath lit up the 79th Independence Day celebrations with fiery words praising India's own homegrown power. At the UP Vidhan Sabha in Lucknow, he unfurled the tricolor and said, "The BrahMos missiles and drones used in Operation Sindoor, made right here in Lucknow under 'Made in India,' prove the strength of swadeshi technology on the world stage." What’s Operation Sindoor? Launched 100 days ago, this daring mission targeted terror hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir to avenge the April 22 Pahalgam attack. Yogi ji saluted all the brave jawans, saying, "I salute all those brave jawans, who despite adverse circumstances routed the enemy, and secured the unity and integrity of India." He said, "When our soldiers are alert at borders... give their 100 per cent contribution, we are able to sleep peacefully and our country is able to see the golden dreams on which a strong India is being built today." The Chief Minister also underlined the huge boost India’s swadeshi model is getting. He added, "The missiles and drones used in Operation Sindoor not only proved India's defence capabilities but also demonstrated the power of swadeshi technology on a global scale." Reminding everyone, he said, "BrahMos missiles and Made in India drones manufactured in Lucknow have established India's capabilities globally." In his heartfelt tribute, Yogi ji bowed to Mahatma Gandhi and other freedom fighters, calling India’s Independence Day "not merely a celebration but also an occasion to awaken national consciousness and renew our commitment to duty." He said, "India, under PM Modi's leadership, is advancing rapidly towards the vision of Viksit Bharat. The Constitution, now in its Amrit Kaal, has played a crucial role in upholding social justice, fraternity, and equality, binding the nation together through both favorable and challenging times." Yogi ji also spotlighted Uttar Pradesh's ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative. By giving local products a fresh look with design, tech, and better packaging, this movement is connecting UP’s products to markets across India and the world. This adds oomph to PM Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign. He urged every Indian to make swadeshi a lifestyle, saying Independence Day is a moment to thank martyrs and get inspired to build a self-reliant India. He praised great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Babasaheb Ambedkar, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Reaffirming PM Modi’s dream of a developed India by 2047, Yogi ji declared, "If every citizen fulfils their duties, this goal will be achieved sooner, and India will emerge as the world's greatest power by 2047." Sharing India's amazing progress, he said, "In 2014, India was the world's 11th largest economy, and it has now become the 4th largest economy." Turning to Uttar Pradesh’s growth, Yogi ji described how peace and progress replaced lawlessness. “Before 2017, the state had riots and insecurity, but now it is a model of safety and good governance,” he said. On the economy, he proudly noted, "UP's GSDP surged from Rs 13 lakh crore to Rs 32 lakh crore, and per capita income rose from Rs 43,000 to Rs 1.2 lakh. Investment proposals worth Rs 45 lakh crore came in, with Rs 15 lakh crore executed, creating jobs for lakhs of youth. 8.3 lakh youth got government jobs, and 1.62 crore found work in MSMEs." The day also featured a grand cultural show with 180 artists from UP and other states performing dazzling acts of unity and diversity. From Hazratganj to Vidhan Sabha, everything was wrapped in the shining tricolor. People waved flags, hearts full of pride, celebrating India’s spirit with joy and hope.
