The voice was delivering a satirical impersonation of former US president Jimmy Carter. One of the judges accidentally pressed play on the podcast on his phone, causing the unexpected audio to fill the courtroom. As the theme song played loudly, a lawyer began to laugh, and Lord Briggs looked down at his phone. "The Rest Is History. The moment was recorded and quickly shared online by the podcast's social media team with the caption, “What was Jimmy Carter doing in the supreme court last week?” A Supreme Court spokesperson confirmed the video is real and added, "Lord Briggs switched off his phone quickly and apologised to the court." The podcast, co-hosted by Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook, has over 600 episodes and more than 20 million monthly downloads. Holland's lively impressions are a fan favorite on the show.
