Balochistan Police Arrests 1,698 Suspects, Recovers Kidnapped Victims and Huge Narcotics Cache

QUETTA: Balochistan Police registered 352 cases and arrested 1,698 suspects in the last month. This was part of a special crackdown targeting drug dealers, proclaimed offenders, absconders, and serious criminals across the province. The operation was ordered by Inspector General of Police Mohammad Tahir Khan.
The police safely rescued six kidnapped victims during their raids in Quetta and districts within seven police ranges. They seized a large amount of weapons: 135 pistols, 19 revolvers, 20 Kalashnikov rifles, 1,329 rounds of ammunition, and 114 magazines.
Officials registered 148 cases specifically against criminals, resulting in 147 arrests. From these suspects, weapons and ammunition were recovered. In drug enforcement, 204 cases were registered against drug peddlers, leading to 213 arrests.
Huge quantities of narcotics were confiscated, including 2,799 kg of hashish, 2,442 kg of crystal meth (ice), and 1,687 kg of opium. Other items seized included 10 kg of bhang, 84 grams of heroin, 573 bottles of liquor, and 129 cans of beer.
Police also recovered six stolen vehicles, 67 motorcycles, 24 mobile phones, and 35 tola of gold. The crackdown led to the arrest of 155 proclaimed offenders and 342 absconders, with 841 suspects held for various crimes.
Authorities seized 165,000 rupees in cash, 4,950 litres of Iranian diesel, and 21,376 litres of Iranian petrol. Additionally, 2,010 cartons of Iranian cigarettes and 68 banned medicines were confiscated.
The Balochistan Police affirmed their commitment to protect citizens' lives and property. They said they are working with the public to prevent crime and ensure peace and security across the province.
