Senegalese police have arrested 14 people linked to a paedophile gang operating between Senegal and France. The group has been active since 2017. They are charged with organised paedophilia, pimping, rape of minors under 15, sodomy, and intentionally spreading HIV/AIDS. Police said the gang forced boys to have unprotected sex with mostly HIV-positive men and filmed it. Four suspects acted on orders from a Frenchman arrested in France in April 2025, receiving money in return. The arrests followed raids in Dakar and Kaolack, 200 km southeast of the capital. Officials seized items connected to the crimes. The operation was a joint effort of Senegal and French police. Senegal's Criminal Investigations Division called it a major operation dismantling a transnational criminal group. Police ask the public to report any information on such crimes to their toll-free number.
