Pakistan has sent a fresh 100-tonne shipment of humanitarian aid tents for Palestinians in Gaza, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) announced on Monday. Since the Israel-Hamas conflict started on October 7, 2023, Pakistan has dispatched multiple aid consignments to Gaza, which has been under siege until a ceasefire was reached in October 2025. The latest 100-tonne load, supported by the Alkhidmat Foundation, marks Pakistan's 28th relief consignment, raising the total humanitarian assistance to 2,727 tonnes. The consignment was flown from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to Egypt’s El Arish International Airport for onward delivery to Gaza, according to Radio Pakistan. Punjab housing minister Bilal Yasin was a special guest at the dispatch event, along with NDMA and foreign ministry officials. Pakistan first sent aid to Gaza, including medicines and tents, on October 19, 2023, shortly after the Israeli bombardment started. In related news, activists behind the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which faced Israeli interception in September 2025, announced plans for a new attempt involving 100 boats and up to 1,000 medics this year. Israel, controlling all access to Gaza, denies blocking supplies to its two million residents. The GSF was attacked by Israeli drones on September 27, 2025, while carrying humanitarian aid and international delegations to Gaza. This aid included baby formula, food, water, and medicine aimed at helping civilians suffering from nearly two years of conflict described as genocide by the United Nations. The prolonged Israeli military campaign killed over 71,000 Palestinians, displaced most of Gaza's population, and left much of the area in ruins. Israel has faced severe global criticism and accusations of genocide, which it rejects.
