The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has protected nearly 7,000 square yards of park land in Uppal mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Officials removed alleged encroachments after complaints by local residents. In Babanagar Colony, a layout approved in 1980 included 3,000 square yards for a park. However, this area was divided into six plots, with the number of plots rising from 183 to 189. A joint inspection by HYDRAA, GHMC, and Revenue confirmed the original park land. Parts had been built on already, but HYDRAA fenced off the remaining 2,000 sq yards and installed signs marking it as park land. In another drive, HYDRAA secured 5,000 square yards of open space in Karthikeya Nagar, Nacharam village, Uppal mandal. These actions help protect green spaces from illegal encroachments, benefiting local communities.
