Luckin Coffee Hits 30,000 Stores, Fuels Global Growth with New Flagship
February 9, 2026
Luckin Coffee, based in Xiamen, China, has opened its 30,000th store. The new shop is also the brand’s first flagship store with a theme focused on global coffee origins. It offers exclusive premium menus inspired by coffee from Indonesia, Brazil, Colombia, and other regions. Chairman Li Hui said at the opening, “This is more than just savouring a cup of coffee – it is the start of a genuine journey through global coffee flavours, which represents a pivotal elevation of Luckin’s corporate vision and mission.” Luckin’s network covers over 300 cities in China and is rapidly growing internationally, including 118 overseas stores as of Q3 2025 in Singapore, Malaysia, and the US. Experts highlight that Luckin’s large scale allows centralized buying, which can lower costs and improve quality control. Sandy Lim from S&P Global Ratings said, “A global supply network provides resilience against disruptions like climate issues and allows more product variety.” Luckin has invested deep in coffee-growing areas like Brazil, Ethiopia, and China’s Yunnan province. Fu Yifu from Su Merchants Bank said the big store count challenges Luckin to keep consistent quality and service. He added the company’s success depends on syncing scale with its global supply chain and staying efficient in each store. While expanding into smaller Chinese cities and overseas, Luckin faces rising rents, labor costs, and tougher competition at home. Lim also noted the freshly made drinks market in China and Southeast Asia is growing but still behind markets like the US or Japan. Consumers here switch brands fast, so companies must innovate constantly. Luckin’s main customers are young people aged 20 to 35, including urban workers and students, who favor online ordering, affordable daily coffee, and new flavors. The top investment bank China International Capital Corporation expects Luckin’s same-store sales to rise 10% in Q4 2025, showing strong growth potential.
