Bengaluru Police Arrest 5 in Jewellery Store Robbery, Recover ₹2.50 Lakh Worth of Gold

The Madanayakanahalli police arrested five men linked to a jewellery store robbery in Bengaluru. They recovered gold ornaments and weapons valued at ₹2.50 lakh. The accused are Ankithnath, 30, a kachori–samosa vendor; Anoop Singh, 30, a garment shop worker; Ravi Rao, 28, a silver jewellery maker; Anop Ram, a hotel waiter; and Arun Jayaram, 31, a mason. All are from Rajasthan but live in different parts of Bengaluru.
The robbery happened on January 27 at a jewellery and banker’s shop in Dasanapura village under Madanayakanahalli police limits. The shop-owner reported that three unknown men entered while he was there with his sons. One man distracted the owner by showing jewellery designs on a phone. Another then pulled out a pistol and threatened them. A third man joined them before they escaped with gold rings, chains, other ornaments, and ₹50,000 cash.
A case was registered at Madanayakanahalli police station. Police found a mobile phone left behind by the robbers. Using technical analysis and reliable tips, officers arrested the first suspect near Kothanur on February 1. He was sent to police custody for 12 days.
Further questioning led to a second arrest on February 3 near Kempegowda bus stand. He got 11 days custody. Investigation identified four more suspects. On February 6, three men were caught near Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and sent to court, receiving 7 days in police custody.
Police seized a pistol, two live bullets, three empty magazines, four phones, a two-wheeler used in the crime, and 9.1 grams of gold based on details from the accused. Total seized items are worth around ₹2.50 lakh. Police continue to investigate and search for a sixth accused.
