A head constable named Mohan Kumar, working at Kanjikovil police station in Perundurai, was suspended after a CCTV video showing him abusing workers and damaging a fast-food shop went viral. The incident happened on February 8, 2026, at around 10:18 p.m. during the constable’s night patrol. Mohan Kumar spotted the shop open late at Four Roads and ordered the migrant worker employees to shut it down. The video captured Mohan Kumar using abusive language, damaging items inside the shop, and trying to assault the workers. The employees told him the shop had permission to stay open until 11 p.m. and asked him to talk to the owner instead. Despite this, he continued to shout abuses before leaving. The whole scene was caught by the shop’s CCTV with audio. After the footage spread on social media, people demanded action. The Superintendent of Police, A. Sujatha, ordered Mohan Kumar’s suspension on February 9, 2026, following an inquiry.
