Prince William and Kate Deeply Concerned Over New Epstein Files Exposing Prince Andrew
February 9, 2026
Prince William and his wife Kate expressed deep concern on Monday about new revelations in the Jeffrey Epstein files concerning Prince Andrew, the uncle of the heir to the British throne. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, brother of King Charles, has faced increased scrutiny after millions of new documents about the late US sex offender were published. A spokesperson said, “I can confirm the prince and princess have been deeply concerned by the continuing revelations. Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.” Andrew, 65, has long been under investigation for his close ties to Epstein. In 2022, he settled a lawsuit from Virginia Giuffre accusing him of sexual abuse. Giuffre died by suicide in April. Andrew has denied wrongdoing but has not publicly responded to the latest file release. Because of the scandal, Andrew lost his royal duties, titles, and residence. He quit all official roles in 2019 and was stripped of his prince title by Charles in October. Recently, emails surfaced showing Andrew shared official British trade documents with Epstein in 2010, after Epstein’s criminal convictions. These documents included reports on Vietnam and Singapore linked to Andrew’s government envoy role. Sharing such sensitive government material violates confidentiality rules. Police have not yet confirmed if they will open a formal investigation into this matter. Thames Valley Police said last week that they are reviewing a new allegation involving a woman taken to a Windsor address by Andrew, in light of the new files. Also, these files have created a crisis for UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. Starmer appointed Peter Mandelson, an associate of Epstein, as ambassador to the US. Mandelson is also under investigation for allegedly sharing sensitive files with Epstein. The unfolding scandal continues to rock Britain’s political and royal worlds.
