Four Palestinians Killed in Israeli Air Strike on Gaza Residential Building
February 10, 2026
At least four Palestinians were killed and several others injured after an Israeli air attack on a residential building in Gaza City. The building was a shelter for displaced people in the Nassr neighborhood. Emergency teams rushed the injured to nearby hospitals following the attack on Monday.
This strike is a breach of the October 10 ceasefire. Gaza’s Government Media Office reported Israel violated the truce 1,520 times since it began. The Ministry of Health in Gaza said 581 people have died and 1,553 were wounded during this period.
Al Jazeera’s Ibrahim Al Khalili, reporting from Gaza City, said the residential building was already partially damaged from previous attacks. He explained, "People have been forced to shelter in this partially damaged residential building due to the lack and scarcity of shelter due to the destruction of most of Gaza’s residential buildings."
Al Khalili added, "This attack has spread panic and left people wondering what might come next in the light of this deadly escalation carried out by the Israeli military."
On the same day, Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian farmer, Khaled Baraka, east of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency.
Additionally, Israel’s military said it killed four militants who emerged from a tunnel in southern Gaza and attacked Israeli soldiers. Hamas’s military spokesman Abu Obeida called the attack "heroic resistance."
Hamas reported in late November that dozens of its fighters were hiding in tunnels under southern Gaza, near areas controlled by Israel. This issue complicated the ceasefire talks, with Israel viewing the fighters as a threat and Hamas wanting safe passage. Many fighters have since died in clashes during Israeli operations near Rafah tunnels.
