Four men, including three of Indian origin, were charged in connection with an armed home invasion in North Vancouver on February 5. The suspects, armed with firearms, broke into a residence near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway. They held a 45-year-old man hostage inside his home. Police believe he was specifically targeted. The accused are Harjot Singh Samra, 29; Gary Gurpreet Dhillon, 33; Sahajdeep Singh Khunkhun, 26; and Shane Aaron Naicker, 31. Each faces five charges: robbery with a firearm, break and enter, unlawful confinement, possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, and assault with a weapon. Police safely rescued the victim, who suffered minor injuries. Due to the incident, a nearby elementary school was briefly locked down as a precaution. The arrests were made on the day of the incident by the response team. Police stated the suspects "forcibly entered a residence and unlawfully confined a 45-year-old man" before officers intervened. All four remain in custody and await bail hearings. No further details about the motive or relationship between suspects and victim have been released.
