Four Men Charged in Armed Home Invasion and Hostage Case in North Vancouver

Four men, including three of Indian origin, were charged in connection with an armed home invasion in North Vancouver on February 5. The suspects, armed with firearms, broke into a residence near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway. They held a 45-year-old man hostage inside his home. Police believe he was specifically targeted.
The accused are Harjot Singh Samra, 29; Gary Gurpreet Dhillon, 33; Sahajdeep Singh Khunkhun, 26; and Shane Aaron Naicker, 31. Each faces five charges: robbery with a firearm, break and enter, unlawful confinement, possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, and assault with a weapon.
Police safely rescued the victim, who suffered minor injuries. Due to the incident, a nearby elementary school was briefly locked down as a precaution. The arrests were made on the day of the incident by the response team.
Police stated the suspects "forcibly entered a residence and unlawfully confined a 45-year-old man" before officers intervened. All four remain in custody and await bail hearings. No further details about the motive or relationship between suspects and victim have been released.
