Hyderabad Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said that illegal phone tapping is still happening in the state. Though he did not name the party directly, he hinted at the BRS. The minister said the government takes this issue very seriously and will punish those responsible. The comments came after a leaked audio was played by the BRS at a press meet. Speaking at a Khammam press conference, the minister said investigations have started to find where spying equipment was placed and who did it. "Phone tapping had taken place earlier and was continuing even now. This is absolutely true. Some individuals are indulging in these illegal activities. We will bring out who the masterminds are and where the equipment was installed," he said. When asked about asking employees for votes, the minister defended it, saying he openly did so on behalf of his party. He also expressed confidence that Congress will win 80% of seats in Khammam district. "Over the last two years, we have stood by every promise and taken governance closer to the people. That is why Congress is set to win," he added.
