The FBI released black-and-white surveillance photos showing an armed person in a ski mask tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s home security camera on the morning she disappeared. FBI director Kash Patel said the images were recovered from "residual data located in backend systems." Four photos show the suspect holding what looks like a plant in front of the camera. "Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has uncovered these previously inaccessible new images showing an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance," Patel wrote. This marked the first time law enforcement shared images linked to a possible suspect since the 84-year-old woman vanished ten days ago. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after her son-in-law dropped her at home. The next day, she was reported missing after she did not show up at a friend’s house to stream Sunday church. The case turned into a criminal investigation on February 2 after a ransom note demanding $6 million in bitcoin arrived at news outlets. The note gave no proof of life, and the deadline passed with no further developments. Police said they had no suspects and no leads. Nancy Guthrie is believed to need daily medication for health reasons.
