February 11, 2026
Sixteen private schools in Punjab’s Mohali received bomb threat emails on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. This caused schools to evacuate students and call off classes for the day. School authorities sent messages to parents announcing a holiday. Among the schools targeted were Manav Mangal School, Shivalik Public School, and Learning Paths School. Students heading to school were sent back home. Following the alerts, police carried out detailed anti-sabotage checks at all targeted schools. Security has been increased at each location. Mohali Senior Superintendent of Police, Harmandeep Singh Hans, told reporters, "Sixteen schools have received bomb threat emails." He said about 300 police officers took part in the search operations. Teams from nearby districts Fatehgarh Sahib and Rupnagar were also called in to assist. All targeted schools were evacuated for safety. The police are investigating the source of these threat emails. Similar bomb threat incidents recently happened in Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala, and Haryana schools, but all were proven false. Police continue to stay alert to ensure student safety.
