A passenger has died after a taxi crashed near Hong Kong International Airport on Wednesday morning. The police received a report at 9.46 am from the taxi driver. The driver said his New Territories taxi collided with a road-maintenance shadow vehicle on North Lantau Highway while heading to the airport. The taxi slammed into the back of the shadow vehicle carrying a directional arrow sign near Citygate in Tung Chung. The impact threw the passenger, a man in his 40s, out of the taxi. Paramedics rushed him to North Lantau Hospital where he was later declared dead.
