On February 11, 2026, the Kerala High Court found many issues and "serious inconsistencies" in the audit report of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam held last year. The court asked the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) to explain these problems. A Bench of Justices Raja Vijayaraghavan V. and K.V. Jayakumar noted that the monetary value of items like aravana, appam, vibhuti, kumkum, and sandalwood given to devotees was missing from the accounts. The court ordered that information from the Kerala State Audit and the TDB be collected to decide the next steps. The case will be heard again on February 27. The audit report, submitted after the court dismissed petitions against the event, showed that work was given to the Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) without a tender or bidding. This work included an extra 10% charge for facilitation or administration. The report also revealed "serious inconsistencies" in the estimated costs linked to wooden frame centre tables, VIP food charges, and the method of adding costs. The court also mentioned problems with GST input credit. These observations followed a court-initiated plea based on the audit findings.
