PSX KSE-100 Drops 1716 Points Amid Weak Engro Fertilizer Results

Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 index was down sharply at 11am on Friday. The index lost 1716.51 points, a drop of 0.95%, falling from 180,512.64 points on Thursday to trade lower in early session. The market showed clear signs of nervousness after Engro Fertilizer’s fourth quarter 2025 results failed to meet investor expectations. This triggered a shift towards sellers, said Topline Securities.
Among active stocks, K-Electric Limited climbed 2.19% to Rs8.40 with a volume of 32,163,790 shares. Hum Network Limited rose strongly by 10.01% to Rs12.20, trading 27,375,937 shares. Pakistan International Bulk Terminal increased 0.83% to Rs19.55, with 23,299,378 shares changing hands.
The biggest gainers included LSE Capital Limited, which surged 41.53% to Rs2.59 on a volume of 5,348,697 shares. 786 Investments Limited rose 10.02% to Rs16.25, with 373,943 shares traded. Apna Microfinance Bank Limited increased 10.02% to Rs21.74 on 36,071 shares.
On the downside, Ahmad Hassan Textile Mills Limited fell 9.86% to Rs76.11, though volume was low at 81 shares. Shadman Cotton Mills Limited dropped 7.71% to Rs48.02 in 11 shares. Saritow Spinning Mills Limited lost 7.64% to Rs28.77 on 2,703 shares.
Investors remain watchful to see if the current bearish trend in the market will continue in the coming sessions.
