The administration of the famous Dhandayudhapani Swamy Temple in Palani, Tamil Nadu, has filed a police complaint after a youth played a film song of actor-politician Vijay on the temple’s public address (PA) system. The incident happened at the ‘Yaanai Paadhai’ or elephant path area of the hill shrine. According to temple officials, the young man gained unauthorized access to the microphone station. This station is usually reserved for security announcements and devotional hymns. The youth connected his mobile phone to the audio console and played the song while staff were briefly away. A video of the stunt was shared on Instagram and soon went viral on social media. The clip shows the youth recording himself while the loud film music echoed inside the temple corridors. The temple administration lodged a police complaint on February 12, 2026, against the unknown person. The FIR was registered under sections 299, which covers malicious acts to outrage religious feelings, and 302 of the BNS. Police are working to identify the individual and possible accomplices. Meanwhile, the temple authorities have ordered an internal inquiry to find out how the security breach happened and to prevent future incidents.
