A terrible tragedy struck on the Thammampatti-Thuraiyur Road in Salem district on Wednesday night. K. Chandran, 55, and his daughter S. Valarmathi, 37, both from Gengavalli block, lost their lives in a deadly crash. They were riding a two-wheeler along with a relative’s seven-year-old son, returning home after attending a function at Aathur. Suddenly, a lorry coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their bike. The crash was so severe that Chandran died instantly at the spot. Valarmathi, his daughter, sadly passed away on the way to the hospital. The young boy, Ashwin, who was also on the bike, got injured and was rushed to a private hospital in Thuraiyur. The Uppiliyapuram police quickly named the lorry driver as the accused and have started a full investigation. This shocking accident has shaken the local community, reminding everyone how sudden and dangerous life on the road can be. The police are digging deeper to find out exactly what happened and ensure justice is served.
