DP World Appoints New CEO and Chairman Amid Epstein Files Controversy
February 13, 2026
Dubai’s DP World has appointed new leaders after controversy. On Friday, Essa Kazim was named chairman, and Yuvraj Narayan became group CEO. The company replaced former chairman and CEO Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem. This leadership change followed the release of Jeffrey Epstein files, which exposed frequent communication between Sulayem and the convicted sex offender. Sulayem was described by Epstein as one of his “most trusted friends.” According to US Department of Justice documents, Sulayem’s name appears over 9,400 times. They show regular messages from 2009 to 2018 on personal matters, meetings, and business. The files suggest Sulayem visited Epstein’s home and island several times. DP World’s statement announced the new appointments but did not mention Sulayem. DP World is a major global port operator, making this leadership shift notable.
