In West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, a booth-level officer (BLO) named Rizwan Hasan Mondal and his accomplice Sagar Gyne were arrested for the murder of 30-year-old Nasir Ali. Police discovered dismembered body parts of Ali in a canal at Baduria on Friday, February 13. The investigation revealed that Mondal had an extramarital relationship with Ali's wife. Mondal had called Ali to a deserted spot late Monday evening under the pretense of discussing electoral roll revision matters. Ali went missing that night, and his family filed a complaint the next day. Police traced Mondal's phone and movements, eventually finding Ali's body parts dumped in the canal in three separate locations. Mondal was charged with murder and body disposal, while Gyne was charged with assisting in the crime. Locals protested with a half-hour road blockade demanding justice, but the police managed to calm the situation and clear the road.
