February 14, 2026
Hongkongers are taking full advantage of the 9-day Lunar New Year break to travel across Asia. On Valentine’s Day morning, families including children and elderly relatives gathered at Hong Kong International Airport. Airport staff urged passengers to head quickly to immigration counters due to large crowds. The Immigration Department forecasted that trips by residents and visitors would reach 11.38 million between February 14 and 23, a 16% rise from last year’s Lunar New Year. By 10am on February 14, over 117,220 residents had already left Hong Kong, with about 27,840 departing through the airport. The long holiday and festive spirit have made travel plans soar.
