Lives of ICU patients at Gaza’s Al-Aqsa Hospital are at serious risk. Both main generators at the hospital have stopped working. The hospital may soon ration electricity to keep critical wards running. Generators are vital as they power ventilators, incubators, surgery rooms, and dialysis machines. But now, these lifelines are failing. The hospital lacks fuel and spare parts. Without power, the healthcare system could collapse. Only two small, unreliable backup generators remain. They might fail any moment due to no fuel or spares. Doctors and medical teams warn of worsening crisis if no aid arrives soon. Gaza’s health system is already shattered by Israel’s war that has lasted over two years. More than 1,700 health workers, including doctors and nurses, have been killed. Hospitals are damaged or destroyed across Gaza. Medication and equipment shortages are extreme. The Health Ministry calls it a critical, ongoing emergency. A United States-backed ceasefire started in October but Israel violates it daily. Attacks continue, and medical aid trucks face delays and restrictions. Since October 10 alone, nearly 600 Palestinians were killed in this fighting. Israel also detains 95 Palestinian medical staff, including 80 from Gaza, worsening staff shortages. Since October 2023, over 72,000 Palestinians have died and 171,000 wounded in this devastating conflict. Gaza’s medical teams appeal urgently for intervention to save patients and keep hospitals running amid this nightmare.
