Seven doctors in Sikar district were suspended after an audit found fraud in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). Criminal cases were also filed against a hospital and a diagnostic centre. Principal Secretary for Health Gayatri Rathore said the doctors at Shri Kalyan Government Hospital, Government Medical College, and Community Health Centre at Kheerwa were involved in irregularities. FIRs are being registered against Bharatpur Nursing Home and Bothra Diagnostic and Imaging Centre in Bikaner. The investigation showed fake claims were made by collusion between Bharatpur Nursing Home and Kashish Pharmacy. Patients were treated without RGHS approval, but claims were fraudulently raised through the pharmacy, harming the state’s finances. At Bothra Diagnostic Centre, patients underwent unnecessary tests, and prescriptions had forged doctors’ signatures and seals. Earlier, 19 FIRs were registered for RGHS irregularities, 64 medical staff were suspended, and about 500 beneficiary cards were blocked. Over ₹32 crore was recovered, and hospitals found guilty were de-empanelled. Ms. Rathore said, "Instructions for initiating criminal proceedings have been given to the Chief Medical and Health Officers of the two districts."
