Twitch has launched its new Plus Program, stirring up talks among streamers about possible changes to the long-standing 70/30 revenue split. The platform’s system offers two payout levels: Level 1 with a 60/40 net revenue share, and Level 2 keeping the famous 70/30 split. To qualify, creators must earn "Plus Points" from subscriptions for three months straight. Twitch explains these points as: Tier 1 subscriptions add 1 point, Tier 2 add 2, and Tier 3 add 6 points monthly. Streamers need 100 points for Level 1 and 300 points for Level 2 each month, resetting monthly. Concerns escalated on February 13, 2026, when several streamers received emails about losing their 70/30 contracts if they didn’t meet the new requirements. Former FaZe Clan star Kalei said, "Yeah, I woke up to an email, Twitch took away my 70/30 contract that I had." Streamer Stable Ronaldo shared, "Email, ‘Hey, we’re taking away your 70/30 soon if you don’t meet these requirements.’" Twitch responded on X to calm fears, stating it is "honoring historical contracts and not changing payout structure" for a select group of long-time creators. Twitch called the update a technical move to unify the payout system and improve payment processes. This happens just weeks after reports surfaced of Twitch possibly changing payout settings following account hacks in January 2026.
