On Saturday, Lokayukta Police in Shivamogga arrested two people for bribery. The arrested are Siddalinga Reddy, a KAS officer and Special Land Acquisition Officer for NHAI, and Village Assistant Rajesh. Keshavamurthy from Othighatta village had rented his car to the SLAO office. Siddalinga Reddy reportedly demanded a bribe of ₹40,000 to clear Keshavamurthy's pending bill. When Keshavamurthy refused, he contacted Lokayukta Police and filed a complaint. Following this, Rajesh was caught accepting the bribe near Nehru Stadium in the city, acting on Siddalinga Reddy’s instructions. Both men were taken into custody. Siddalinga Reddy previously served as Additional Deputy Commissioner in Shivamogga. The arrest was led by a Lokayukta team headed by DySP B.P. Chandrashekhar and SP M.S. Kaulapure. Lokayukta Inspectors K.P. Rudresh and Gururaj Mylar were also involved in the operation, according to a press release.
