Five people were killed and several others injured when their car crashed head-on into a KSRTC bus near Nelamangala on Tumakuru Road early Sunday morning. The crash happened around 12 a.m. near the Navayuga Toll flyover. Police said the car was speeding towards Bengaluru city and lost control near Jindal Hospital. It jumped the road divider and hit the bus coming from the opposite side. All five car occupants died on the spot. They have been identified as Durga Prasad (20), Keshav (19), Lalith (22), and Harshith (20), all from Doddaballapur. The fifth victim's identity is yet to be confirmed. The bus front was damaged in the impact. The driver, conductor, and a few front-row passengers had minor injuries. The other 42 passengers escaped unhurt. Police noted the car was completely mangled in the collision. The bodies were taken to Nelamangala Government Hospital for autopsy. Harshith was a second-year B.Com student in Rajanakunte, and Lalith worked in CCTV installation. Madanayakanahalli Police have registered a case for further investigation.
