Philippine Embassy in UAE Shortens Service Hours for Ramadan 2026
February 15, 2026
The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulates in Dubai and the Northern Emirates have announced new working hours for Ramadan 2026. Starting with the crescent moon sighting around February 19, they will operate from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:30 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays. Regular hours will resume after Eid Al Fitr.
Most consular services, including passport renewals and civil registry transactions, need prior appointments. Early morning slots are advised to avoid long waits and daytime heat. The embassy asked Filipinos in the UAE to rely only on official updates amid rising false reports online.
The UAE reduces working hours during Ramadan for both public and private sectors to ease fasting practices. Though embassies are technically sovereign, the Philippine missions align with these reduced hours to serve better.
Filipino residents, one of the largest expat communities in the UAE, often visit these missions for vital services. To use embassy services smoothly during Ramadan, they should book early-week, early-day appointments and check requirements online or via hotlines.
These changes help balance religious observance with essential service delivery. The Philippine Embassy’s new schedule respects UAE cultural norms and supports the Filipino community with clear, appointment-based service during this holy month.
