The Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu, Archana Patnaik, announced that the final electoral roll will be published on February 23, 2026. This follows the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) that took place earlier. The Election Commission of India (ECI) had ordered on January 30 that lists of individuals with "logical discrepancies" in their voter details be displayed at gram panchayat bhawans and other public offices. People affected by these discrepancies were allowed to submit documents or objections in person or through authorized representatives within 10 days of the list being displayed. "Accordingly, the lists were put up and objections were invited for the next 10 days as mandated by the Supreme Court of India," said the release. Those eligible had the chance to correct their details before the final publication. The qualifying date for this revision was January 1, 2026.
