Nifty markets showed weakness as the index pulled back below the key 26,000 mark and slipped below its 20-day moving averages. Ruchit Jain, Vice President at Motilal Oswal Financial Services, said, "The pullback last week had selling pressure around the psychological 26,000, making it a key short-term resistance." He noted that "market breadth deteriorated, indicating selling in broader markets." Jain sees strong support between 25,100 and 25,200 points and advises traders to watch for opportunities near these levels rather than taking directional bets now. He recommends buying Bajaj Finance at Rs 1,030 with a target of Rs 1,120 and Torrent Pharma at Rs 4,070 targeting Rs 4,250. Tanmay Shah, Head of Research at SIHL, pointed out downside pressure with support near the 20-day simple moving average at 25,468. He said, "Momentum oscillators show oversold conditions suggesting a tech bounce to 25,700 is possible." Critical medium-term support is at the 200-day moving average of 25,292 points. For traders, he suggests an Iron Condor options strategy in the range 24,800 to 26,050 till the weekly expiry. Shah picked Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (buy at Rs 380, target Rs 395–399) and Dr. Reddy's Labs (buy at Rs 1,268, target Rs 1,320) as strong candidates. Sudeep Shah from SBI Securities highlighted a sharp 550-point drop in two sessions and a bearish trend shift after Nifty fell below its 20-, 50-, and 100-day EMAs. He said, "The daily RSI fell below its short-term average and rallies may face resistance." Support lies at 25,350–25,300 with a break that could drop the index further to 25,100 or 24,900. He recommended a cautious, non-leveraged approach and advised buying quality stocks on dips. His top stock picks include L&T (buy at Rs 4,173, target Rs 4,430) and Pricol (buy at Rs 633, target Rs 690). Overall, experts expect Nifty to trade in a range from about 25,100 to 25,800 in the near term, signaling a cautious market. Traders should follow support and resistance levels closely and look for careful entry points in quality stocks.
