Saudi Arabia’s National Centre for Meteorology has announced that Ramadan 1447H will be warmer and drier in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah. Temperatures are expected to rise by about 1°C in Makkah and up to 1.2°C in Madinah. Normally, daytime temperatures during Ramadan average 26.8°C in Makkah and 23.1°C in Madinah, but this year they will feel noticeably hotter, especially in the afternoons.
Rainfall is expected to be below average as well. Ramadan usually brings around 4.2 mm of rain to Makkah and 4.3 mm to Madinah. This year, any rainfall will likely be light, with small amounts overall.
The National Centre for Meteorology shared this forecast to help authorities prepare for the weather during Ramadan, ensuring smooth service for pilgrims visiting the Two Holy Mosques. The centre also encourages the public to stay updated through official channels for the latest weather reports and climate updates as the holy month approaches.
