On Friday night, a four-year-old boy was left asleep inside a cab in Hennur, Bengaluru. The incident happened at 8.26 p.m. The child had gone to the ISKCON Temple with his mother and five relatives. On their way back, he fell asleep in the cab. After reaching their apartment in Ponnappa Layout, the family hurried inside, unaware the boy was still in the car. The cab driver then left for more pickups. Soon, the mother realized her son was missing and tried to call the cab, but couldn't reach the driver. She then alerted Namma-112, the state emergency system. Namma-112 informed ASI Manjappa Koppal and Head Constable Satish Kumar, who were on patrol nearby. They arrived within two minutes and checked CCTV footage to find the cab’s registration number. Using a police app, they traced the vehicle owner and contacted the driver. The boy was found sleeping safely inside the cab. Police told the driver not to wake the boy and to drive back to the apartment while they monitored the cab’s movement live. The boy was safely returned to his relieved parents. The entire rescue took about an hour. Police also advised the family to be more careful in the future.
