The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is set to auction 98 properties in the Jayanagar zone of the Bengaluru South Corporation. These properties belong to tax defaulters who owe a total of ₹1,55,86,841 in unpaid property tax. Despite multiple chances, the defaulters have not paid their dues. Under the GBA Act 2025, all properties in the corporation must pay property tax every year. As per the ‘Property Tax Assessment, Recovery and Maintenance Rules 2024’, the GBA issued show cause notices and tax demand letters to defaulters. Reminders were regularly sent via messages to encourage payment. The auction will take place on February 21 at the Corporation Commercial Offices Building, 2nd Block, Jayanagar, led by the Zonal Joint Commissioner of the Jayanagar Zone. The GBA has also displayed information about these properties on its notice board. The authority added, "If the property tax on the listed property is paid in full before the auction process, it will be withdrawn from the auction."
