SHANGLA/BANNU: Three policemen were martyred in a clash with terrorists in the Kabalgram area of Martung tehsil, Shangla. Two terrorists were killed during the police operation. A police official said a terrorist attacked the police party during a search-and-strike mission, leading to the deaths. The martyred officers are Head Constable Maqbool Ahmad and Elite Force constables Saeed-ur-Rehman and Fida Hussain. Police said the operation is ongoing with a large force deployed. In a separate incident in Bannu, two people, including a Hafiz-i-Quran boy, died when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near Miryan police station. At least 17 others were injured. The IED was planted on a motorcycle outside shops and detonated with a loud bang. Medical authorities confirmed the injured and deceased were taken to local hospitals. Police and security forces quickly cordoned off the area, collected evidence, and launched a search operation. Officials including RPO Sajjad Khan, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Faheem Khan, ANP Senator Haji Baaz Muhammad Khan Advocate, Dr Pir Sahib Zaman, and PTI district president Haji Gul Baaz Khan visited the hospital to check on the injured. The bomb disposal squad said the blast involved seven to eight kilograms of explosives. Authorities continue their investigations and efforts to maintain security after these serious attacks.
