Gujranwala police arrested a serial killer who kidnapped and killed four people, including a woman, her two children, and a 13-year-old boy. The killings were tied to robbery. Gujranwala CPO Dr Ghias Gul said two bodies of a woman, Malaika, 32, and her five-year-old son Muhammad Ahmed were found on February 10 near the Citi Housing Society canal. Both were killed with a sharp weapon. A special police team traced the suspect, Haroon Javed, who was caught trying to escape to Karachi via train from Lahore. Haroon confessed to killing the woman and her two children, including an eight-month-old daughter Mubara, who died from asphyxiation. He threw the baby's body into the canal, which was later recovered. Haroon said he committed the murders to steal gold earrings worn by the woman. The suspect and victims lived in the same area, Alam Chowk. Haroon also admitted to killing 13-year-old boy Rehan Ali on December 20. He had kidnapped Rehan to steal a bridal dress but later killed him. Rehan’s father, Muhammad Imran, had filed a kidnapping report. The police praised their team for tracking and arresting the killer. The case remains under investigation.
