February 17, 2026
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has launched a pilot project to build smart parking facilities at 14 spots in the Khairatabad Zone. Two agencies were chosen to develop seven locations each, following recommendations by an evaluation committee.
These smart parking zones include under the flyovers at Somajiguda Circle and Shaikpet, near Satyam Theatre at Ameerpet, the Mallepally ward office near Bazar Guard, near Necklace Road Railway station, MGBS area, GHMC head office, TTD Temple area at Liberty, Liberty Circle at Himayat Nagar, three locations in Abids, under PVNR expressway at Mehdipatnam, and between Basheerbagh flyover and Liberty Circle.
Parking spots will be marked and numbered, with all operations done digitally through a mobile app that updates parking availability in real-time. Officials said payment and management will be fully digital.
Each location will also offer electrical vehicle charging and kiosks selling food items. The selected agencies will run the parking facilities for three years. Officials added that if the pilot succeeds, the smart parking model will expand across Hyderabad.
