The UAE and Bahrain have launched the pilot of the One-Point Air Travellers project to ease airport entry for passengers flying between the two countries. This new system lets Emirati and Bahraini travelers finish entry formalities at their departure airport. It aims to reduce crowding at arrival terminals and speed up procedures, saving time and effort for passengers. The project uses biometric checks, surveillance, e-gates, and advanced data processing through electronic links between both countries’ authorities. Initially, the project covers Zayed International Airport in the UAE and Bahrain International Airport. The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security leads the effort on its side. Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior leads their side, working with the Gulf Cooperation Council. Officials expect the project to boost tourism, business trade, and economic growth between the two nations. It also strengthens security and customs integration. Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili called it an innovative step showing the Gulf countries' commitment to safe and convenient travel. He said the project would make both airports key travel hubs, promoting tourism and economic activity. Mohammed Ahmed Al Kuwaiti highlighted that the scheme shows strong UAE-Bahrain coordination and digital transformation. He said it offers high security, privacy, and efficiency. The project is a big leap towards smart mobility for the Gulf region and could serve as a model for future cross-border travel improvements.
