Whitefield police in Bengaluru have arrested a 42-year-old photographer named Kiran for stealing gold ornaments worth ₹55 lakh. The suspect took 348 grams of gold from a house in Nagondanahalli. The homeowner had left the key in a shoe rack outside on February 11 for family members. When they returned, the door was open, and the gold was missing. The complainant filed a case with Whitefield police. Police studied CCTV footage and found Kiran near Varthur Kodi on February 13. During questioning, he said he had come looking for a rental house. Seeing the key in the shoe rack, he entered the home and took the gold. Police also recovered the entire stolen gold from Kiran’s residence. City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh warned residents, "Do not leave house keys in shoe racks or window ledges," as it makes homes easy targets for thieves. Kiran was presented in court on February 14 and sent to judicial custody.
