Seventy-six police canines and 105 handlers from the 25th batch of the All India Level Canine Basic Induction Course graduated on Tuesday at the Integrated Intelligence Training Academy (IITA) in Moinabad. The eight-month training honed skills crucial for law enforcement. The batch had 42 dogs from Telangana, 30 from Bihar CID, and four from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Vijay Kumar said, "Police canines play a crucial role in crime detection, explosives and narcotics identification, and search-and-rescue operations." He stressed that "the coordination between handler and canine is vital for operational success." ISW & OSD V. B. Kamalasan Reddy shared that since 2004, the academy has trained 919 police canines and 1,310 handlers. He praised the training center’s special features like a 650-yard olfaction park and a modern veterinary hospital. Awards were given to top performers in explosives detection, narcotics detection, tracking, and physical fitness. Senior police officers attended the parade led by M. Suresh Reddy.
