New Mexico Probes Epstein Ranch; Hillary Hits Trump, LA Mayor Demands Olympics Chief Quit
February 18, 2026
New Mexico lawmakers have started the first full investigation into Jeffrey Epstein's Zorro Ranch. They formed a bipartisan committee to hear from survivors of sexual abuse, seeking testimony from local residents near the ranch, 50 km south of Santa Fe. The committee aims to identify guests and officials involved in alleged abuse at the 7,600-acre estate. Lawmaker Andrea Romero said, "He was basically doing anything he wanted in this state without any accountability whatsoever." The committee began work on Tuesday and will share findings in July. Survivors’ lawyers welcomed the probe, noting Zorro Ranch had been overlooked in past investigations.
Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton accused President Donald Trump of a "cover-up" regarding Epstein files. In a BBC interview, she said, "Get the files out. They’re slow-walking it." Both Hillary and Bill Clinton will give closed-door depositions before the House Oversight Committee soon. Hillary added, "I just want it to be fair. I want everybody treated the same way."
In Los Angeles, Mayor Karen Bass called for Casey Wasserman, head of the 2028 Olympics committee, to resign. Wasserman’s name came up in Epstein-related emails. Bass told CNN, "My opinion is that he should step down." However, the Olympic board disagrees and supports Wasserman.
Finally, Thomas Pritzker, chairman of Hyatt Hotels, quit after emails showed ongoing contact with Epstein after his 2008 conviction. This news adds to growing political pressure to expose Epstein’s crimes fully.
