February 18, 2026
The Balochistan Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) announced on Wednesday that 14 suspected militants were killed in two separate operations in Quetta and Barkhan districts. In Quetta's Darakhshan area, eight armed men died during a firefight. The CTD stated, "Eight armed persons were killed in a fire exchange during the operation," adding that three CTD personnel were injured. Weapons and ammunition were seized from the deceased, who were linked to a banned group. In Barkhan, six terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation. The CTD said, "All security personnel remained safe," and that weapons and ammunition were recovered. The militants were reportedly planning disruptive acts. The department confirmed it will continue its efforts to eliminate terrorism. These operations follow a larger security campaign. On February 5, "Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1" ended in Balochistan, where 216 terrorists were killed during days of clearance operations, per the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). This operation started in response to multiple attacks across the province on January 31 that disrupted normal life. Alongside these actions, about 180 suspects were arrested and a large cache of arms was seized by Frontier Corps and police.
