Julian Ingram, wanted over the recent shooting deaths of three people in Lake Cargelligo, had a long history of domestic violence. Court documents reveal that in 2016, Ingram pleaded guilty to domestic violence offences against a former partner named Tessa. He made death threats towards her, their child, and her mother. In one chilling threat, he said, “I have a gun and a hole for him.” He also accused her of being with a handyman and threatened both. Ingram broke an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) issued to protect Tessa by coming close to her home and scaring her. He was sentenced to eight months in prison, but later this was reduced to 300 hours of community service on appeal. There was no order for him to attend any behavioural program. Tessa described Ingram as jealous and controlling, fearing for her safety and that of others. Despite his violent history, police granted Ingram bail last year for domestic violence charges. He was required to report daily to the police station and abide by an AVO. In 2022, he was convicted of assaulting a family member by grabbing her throat during an argument. Since 2014, Ingram had six AVOs filed against him connected to five people, including Tessa and Sophie Quinn, his pregnant former partner whom he is now accused of murdering along with her boyfriend and aunt. NSW police are investigating Ingram’s full domestic violence history and access to firearms as part of a wider inquiry into how the case was handled. A large manhunt for 37-year-old Ingram is ongoing as the community waits for answers.
