All Filton24 Defendants Acquitted in UK Israeli Arms Burglary Case
February 18, 2026
All defendants in the Filton24 case in the UK have been acquitted of aggravated burglary charges at Elbit Systems, an Israeli arms firm in Bristol. The Crown Prosecution Service admitted it could not provide evidence to proceed, leading to the dismissal. The 24 accused, linked to Palestine Action, faced long remand periods of up to 18 months. Five of them granted bail will be released except one with another pending case. This is the second win for Palestine Action after the UK High Court ruled against the government’s ban on the group as a "terror group," calling it unlawful and disproportionate. The first six defendants were acquitted of the most serious charge, aggravated burglary. Three were also acquitted of violent disorder, and the jury reached no verdict on remaining charges. The Filton24 Defence Committee called it a "significant victory," stating the charge was used to justify long pre-trial imprisonment beyond the usual limits. A retrial may happen on charges where no verdict was reached, with some defendants expected to seek bail soon. Elbit Systems is Israel’s largest private arms company and a target of many UK protests during the war in Gaza. Over 1,600 arrests of peaceful protesters supporting Palestine Action took place after the government banned the group.
