NCB Bengaluru Seizes Cocaine Worth ₹23.88 Crore from Brazilian at Airport

In a major drug bust, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Bengaluru Zonal Unit seized 4.776 kg of cocaine worth around ₹23.88 crore early Tuesday. The Brazilian national was caught at Kempegowda International Airport. He had travelled from São Paulo to Doha, then to Bengaluru. Officials found four ladies' handbags with false walls and hidden compartments. Inside, pieces of clothing were soaked with cocaine. The accused is in custody for detailed questioning about the source, destination, and any broader conspiracy. The case proceeds under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. NCB urges citizens to report any drug-related information via MANAS – National Narcotics Helpline at toll-free 1933, promising strict confidentiality.
