What a spectacular moment for Indian hockey fans! The Indian men’s hockey team clinched the Asia Cup 2025 title with a spicy 4-1 win over South Korea in the grand final held at Rajgir on Sunday. And guess what? The Bihar government is tossing in a cool Rs 10 lakh cash prize for each player to celebrate their heroic feat. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar shared his excitement on X, saying, "The Indian hockey team has registered a spectacular victory in the Asia Cup 2025, organised for the first time at the campus of the State Sports Academy-cum-Bihar Sports University located in Rajgir, thereby filling the entire country with pride." To pump up the spirits even more, the team’s support staff won’t be left behind. Each member of the support staff gets Rs 5 lakh as a well-deserved reward. Kumar added, "The state government has decided to provide honorarium to the players and support staff of the Indian hockey team that won the Asia Cup 2025 to encourage and motivate them. Each player of the winning Indian team of the Asia Cup 2025 will be provided with an honorarium of 10 lakh rupees, and each support staff member will be provided with 5 lakh rupees." This victory is extra special because India last won the Asia Cup title way back in 2017 in Dhaka. Before that, they tasted glory in 2003 in Kuala Lumpur and 2007 in Chennai. And here’s the cherry on the cake – this win gives India a direct ticket to the prestigious FIH World Cup 2025, jointly hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands from August 14 to 30 next year. Isn’t this the perfect recipe of talent, hard work, and sweet rewards? India’s hockey team is surely on fire, making the nation beam with pride and cricket fans take notice!
