Coldplay’s Chris Martin Sends Love to Charlie Kirk’s Family and More at Wembley Finale

In a powerful moment at Wembley Stadium, Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin paused during the band's closing night to ask the huge crowd to “raise our hands” and send love across the world. Tens of thousands cheered as Martin included a special shoutout to the family of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist who was tragically shot and killed recently. "Let’s raise our hands like this and send love anywhere you want to send it in the world," Martin said before performing their famous song "Fix You." "You can send this to your brother or your sister. You can send it to the families of people who’ve been going through terrible stuff. You can send it to Charlie Kirk’s family. You can send it to anybody’s family. You can send it to people you disagree with, but you send them love anyway." Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot while speaking at Utah Valley University. Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson after a big manhunt. Officials said Robinson fired a single, targeted shot from a rooftop during the event. He is expected to face charges soon. This touching tribute came during the final show of Coldplay’s record-breaking 10-night run at London’s Wembley Stadium as part of their Music of the Spheres tour. Martin also invited fans to send goodwill to "peaceful people in the Middle East, Ukraine and Russia, Azerbaijan and Sudan and Somalia." Looking ahead, Chris Martin told the excited crowd that the band plans to restart the tour "somewhere in southern Africa in about 18 months." In a separate incident online, author Stephen King posted a false claim saying Kirk had "advocated stoning gays to death." After fans corrected him, King apologized and deleted the message. Coldplay’s heartfelt plea blended music with messages of love and peace, striking a hopeful chord as they closed their legendary Wembley chapter.
